A native San Diegan, Jim’s civic service spans over three decades. He served two terms as Chief of Staff to a City Councilmember and was elected to the San Diego City Council in 2000 and reelected in 2004.
Jim’s accomplishments as an elected official are numerous: building libraries, fostering economic development, water and waste water policy and specializing in regional transportation and planning issues. Jim is also Past President of the League of California Cities.
In 2014, Jim was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to the California Transportation Commission and he chairs CTC’s Road Charge Task Force which is tasked to create a program that might eventually replace the gasoline tax. Jim is also a Director on the San Diego County Water Authority.
The recipient of numerous awards and honors over his career, Jim is a member of San Diego Rotary Club 33, and Lambda Alpha International.
A published author, self-described futurist and serial entrepreneur, Jim speaks frequently to groups, conferences and organizations around the world about the future of transportation, technology innovation and numerous leading edge technologies.
Jim has two sons in college. He and his wife Robin live in the San Diego with their three English Bulldogs, Boone, Ruby and Red.

Teresa Acosta possesses more than 15 years of experience successfully building relationships and managing communications and outreach for local government officials, non-profit organizations, and private companies throughout California. She has managed her own public affairs consulting practice, taught college courses in Business Communication, and held executive positions focused on strategic partnerships and communications for businesses in Los Angeles and San Diego. She established her professional experience with seven years working for California State Senator Jack Scott and two years as a Regional Public Affairs Manager at the League of California Cities.
Continuing a long tradition of leadership, Teresa serves on the Board of Directors of the Institute for Local Government in Sacramento and on the Board of Directors of MAAC Project in San Diego. She is a member of the Latino Advisory Board for the San Diego Union-Tribune and a graduate of the HOPE Leadership Institute, the Carlsbad Citizens Academy, and the San Diego Regional Water Authority Citizens Water Academy.
Teresa earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Pepperdine University. While pursuing her graduate studies, she participated in international courses at the Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Clint Lorimore is a proven local leader with a strong track record of public service and dedication to the Southern California region, particularly in the Inland Empire.
Having dedicated himself to actively engaging with local communities in Riverside County, Clint successfully ran for Eastvale City Council in 2014. In addition to his service on the city council, he provides public affairs consulting expertise in the region and volunteers with various local organizations.
Clint works closely with the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) Regional Council District 4, serving as Vice Chair of the Legislative Communications Membership Committee, and with the League of California Cities. He sits on the Executive Board, Legislative Committee, and Fundraising Committee for the League’s Riverside Division, as well as the Transportation Committee and Resolutions Committee for the League’s state board. He is a member of the Riverside County Republican Party Central Committee and a board member for the Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority.
Clint graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with an emphasis on Public Policy and earned a master of arts degree from Claremont Graduate University. Jeremy Ogul is a public affairs manager.
A native of southwest Riverside County, Jeremy earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from UC Davis, where he led the daily student newspaper as an editor for three years. After graduating, he worked for three years as both a freelance and full-time professional journalist in the San Diego area. His freelance work appeared in The San Diego Union-Tribune, Voice of San Diego, The Coast News and Patch.com. He also edited several neighborhood newspapers in San Diego.
In addition to a strong background in journalism, Jeremy has broad experience in public relations, marketing, media relations and public affairs, including pitching and placing stories; managing social media for small businesses and political campaigns; public opinion polling; and developing and deploying messaging strategies spanning op-eds, blog posts, website copy, newsletters and press releases.
As public affairs coordinator for Madaffer Enterprises, Jeremy is responsible for interfacing with clients and implementing strategies to achieve clients’ goals.

Public Affairs Manager
Brandon Jones joins Madaffer Enterprises as a Public Affairs Manager with several years of professional experience in public relations and government affairs. In his role, Brandon serves clients by developing and implementing strategic plans, conducting advocacy and securing government approvals for complex projects. He is a seasoned communicator with extensive experience tailoring messages to varied audiences, including mass media, online and social media, industry publications, elected and appointed officials and community organizations.
Prior to joining Madaffer Enterprises, Brandon worked for more than three years at Southwest Strategies, one of the largest public affairs firms in the San Diego region.
Brandon earned his bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, where he studied journalism with a focus in public relations.
Brandon lives with his girlfriend in North Park and enjoys cooking, reading, playing soccer and sampling the abundance of local craft beers.

A native of North Florida, Brandon is a Navy veteran who spent four years stationed in Japan, deployed in the 7th Fleet with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. He served as a Community Relations Assistant in East and Southeast Asia, speaking with foreign press about allied operations within the region. He participated in two humanitarian missions: Typhoon Parma in the Philippines in 2009 and the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in Japan in 2011. He was twice awarded the Humanitarian Service Medal and was also awarded the Navy Marine Corps Achievement medal for his contributions to his unit’s readiness. He was honorably discharged in late 2011.
Brandon earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with an emphasis in public policy from University of California at San Diego (UCSD). While working on his undergraduate degree, Brandon tutored students at a local disadvantaged school, mentoring them on character development and preparing them for entry-level college writing.
He also gained experience as an intern in the offices of multiple elected officials in both state and federal offices. Specializing in community outreach, he built strong relationships with constituents by representing officials at local events.

As firm manager at Madaffer Enterprises, AJ Wheeler is responsible for all accounting, human resources and administrative office support. She also provides clients with strategic advice on business and management.
AJ earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Louisiana State University and teaching credentials from the University of Texas, El Paso. She taught science for two years in Texas before moving to San Diego to teach at San Diego High School.
In 2006, AJ earned accounting credentials from UC San Diego and started her own bookkeeping business. She developed a specialization in real estate and professional service-oriented businesses, which led her to become an employee of Madaffer Enterprises in 2013. She is an expert in bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, preparation of financial statements, and tax. She is currently working toward IRS and FTB/CTEC tax preparer certifications.
A Mira Mesa resident, AJ spends much of her free time leading extracurricular activities with her daughter, including Girl Scouts and PTA.
